beadeful's Blog

Female, Minneapolis, MN

I work full time in my spare time and create and sell my handmade beaded jewelry the other time. I am married to a wonderful man who is an Attorney here in the Twin Cities (in MN). We have 2 dogs and no children, just a teen nephew and wonderful In-Laws on both sides.

I love collecting anything different and unique and can probably write a story about how I've acquired each and every collectible I own. I feel that I have a free heart and will do just about anything for my close circle of friends. I also love be-bopping on all of the different social networks. I am Beadeful and you are as well.

I created a CLASSIFIEDS NETWORK so that Members of my Beading and Crafting Networks would have a place to advertise, sell, trade, and buy their wares. I also have 2 beading networks - Gone Beadin' Craft Fair. I just created a Network for Altered Art - Altered B.Log Network So I've been really really busy, as you can tell.

Let's Countdown To YOUR Birthday

April 1, 2009 by beadeful

Please post the DAY and MONTH of your birth, so that we can count down to your birthday.

How does this work?
The Swap Signup will start one month before your birthday.  Member will create and make 5 items (1 for each day counting down to your birthday) for 1 partner.
The items will be based on your favorite things, and likes listed in your Swap-Bot profile.
Each item will be wrapped and numbered to be open on each day before your birthday.  Each day, the gift gets better and better. On the day of your birthday, everyone
gets the big birthday surprise.  Items may be handmade or store purchased. The entire package should cost you no more than 10 - 15$ and this should include postage.

Here's an example:

Ex.  My birthday is 19 AUGUST.  So the swap signup and mail by date will start one month before.
Everyone will have the 5 items from their partner by the 13th of August.  Each wrapped item will be
numbered from 14 - 19.  On Day 14 of August, each member will open a gift.  On Day 15, you'll open the wrapped
gift with the 15 on it, etc...until you get to day 19 for the big surprise.

I have posted the following in all of my Group Forums under the Group Contest Discussion:

In an effort to maybe increase membership and activity, I have decided to maybe run a contest.

Here it is:

The winner of this prize will have

Thought of a Swap Idea

If not an Officer, become an Officer for their Ideal Swap

Successfully Coordinate this Swap (set the rules etc..) from beginning to end.

If there is only one winner, then so be it.

There may be up to 2 winners

I will run this contest in all of my groups, so feel free to join them and participate as you wish.

There is "no" max number of swaps you may run. You could make it a marathon if you wish to.

Here are the swap-bot groups where the message is posted:

A Word or two on Late Senders

March 7, 2009 by beadeful

Please be ON TIME with your Sends.  I WILL RATE a "3" automatically and with out notice for LATE SENDS (A "Late Send" = not postmarked on or by the Mail by date).

So this is my advance NOTICE to all the LATE SENDERS of Swap-Bot.

NOTE: If you've PM'd me letting me know you'll be late, I will give you an additional 5 days for the package to hit my mailbox before it will be counted as late.

Private Swaps with Beadeful

March 1, 2009 by beadeful

For management purposes, I will not do a private swap with you unless it is done via Swap-Bot.com.
If you'd like to do a private swap with me, please join the ABL Network Group at Swap-Bot (if you haven't already).
Post your swap preference and your SWAP-BOT name in a reply to this discussion.  I'm more than happy
to help you get rated so that you can participate in other swaps at the Bot.

"Handmade By You"

March 1, 2009 by beadeful

What "Newbie Swap" would you be interested in seeing in the Altered B.Log Swaps Group ?
Remember to join that group in order to participate in the Swaps.

Pay close attention to the requirements of the swap ad and the Sign Up / Drop By / and Mail By Dates you will be rated on your meeting the minimum requirements of the swap.
You get hearts for doing extra (i.e. adding extra stuff to the package that you send to your assigned swap partner).
NEVER EVER sign up for a swap and not drop the swap if you do not plan to follow through.  In order to remain a member of the group, you will have to maintain a rating of no lower
than 4.7 with no "1" ratings ( 1's means that you do not send your swaps).  If you receive a 3 rating (It means you did not meet the minimum swap requirements (i.e. late sending, not on theme, etc).
In order not to get booted from an ABL Swaps, you can not have a 3 rating within the last 6 months of the swap you are joining.
Once you join Swap-Bot.com, you should fill out your profile, that includes your likes and dislikes as far as favorites and not so favorite things you'd like to receive...
All items swapped will be handmade by your own hands.
The swaps for Newbies will be listed easy enough for you to get started and get rated so that you may join other swaps that do
not allow unrated or low rated newbies.

Post Your Reply under this discussion.
Try it, it is most addictive!!!

The Swappers Pledge

March 1, 2009 by beadeful

I pledge to other swap-bot members to:

1. Rate for every swap i take part in.

2. Rate as soon as i am able to get on line after swap is
received.

3. Rate Fairly, I will only give a 1 rating if a swap hasn't
been received and that no contact has been made from the sender. I
promise to pm member first to give them the chance to resolve the
situation first.

4. I will only give a 3 if i feel that the swap didn't meet the
requirements and that the partner choose not to correct the
swap.

5. I will try and leave a message on all ratings to state what
i received and what i was happy with, even if its just a thank
you.

6. I will not use slander or badmouth anyone when given a
rating, facts is all that is needed when rating a 1.
